Back From Matsuricon

Just got back from Matsuricon where I meet Mela Lee who was the dub voice actor of Rena in Higurashi.  Also got to go to the When They Cry panel, where I got to practice my trivia.  I will add some pictures from the convention down below.

It is also a good of time as any to update a video of my large higurashi collection.  Though the giant subway poster does not look as intimidating on video as it is on my wall.  Weirdest thing in my collection would be expired curry, how it got though customs is a mystery.  It shall serve as the thumbnail of my video.  Enjoy!

I am heading to Matsuricon this weekend in Ohio, planning to give out some copies of my games while there.  I will be dressed as Auron from FFX.  Also the president of the United States will be in the same hotel, does that mean it might be dangerous...

ATTN:  I had an sound issue with the august 22nd patch, this has now been fixed and I have updated the link. I am very sorry.  Luckily I noticed it right away before I headed off on my trip.  I had to reburn all the copies I made for the convention.

This is a quick update that corrects some errors in Rika Jan.  It also adds a different ending if you choose to give up on Mion in Rika Jan.  Added some extra scenes to Utsutsukowashi-hen (reality breaking chapter), I wanted to start showing what I have planned for that chapter.  There some new items and critters added to other chapters, but they were not the focus of this patch, they tag along for the ride.


I did not get time to thoroughly check the additions to due to time constraints, but after the convention I will look things over.

When They Cry [Anime North 2018 Version]

This contains fixes to problems in the original that only came to my knowledge when I started to playtest through chapters and freeplays more then once.  Hopefully I caught everything~  I will still need to do some more playtesting but my convention is already upon me.  So hopefully others who play this game will bring me up any errors that arise.  Tell me how the playable Oishi character is, since have not heard any feedback.

Update contains:
Reality Chapter - Added a little more to the reality chapter and made it so you can play through it more then once.  There is still lots more story and resources I just did not have time to finish piecing together, hopefully next big release I will focus on doing that.  But for now some places are off limits.

Rika -Jan -  This is now the starting chapter of the game, it has multiple endings and rewards depending on how well you do. The treasure hunts can provide very useful items such as keys to special chests later in the game.  This chapter you face Rena, Satoko, Mion, Hanyuu and Keiichi.  In the future I will be putting in Shion!

Before Midnight - Has four different endings, you play as Natsumi and Shion.  This is a hard chapter so best be well stocked before venturing.  Each ending will give you an event item that can be useful and can be used usually only once per chapter.  I will adjust the difficulty next big update after some playtests, but I threw in a little extra help for now.

Time-killing/ Poppy flower chapters - now re-playable.

Updated the Hinamizawa map, there 184 enemies, 97 different weapons, 112 armor/accessories, 115 items, 15 playable characters.

I removed a playable movie, it was space consuming and not very popular anyways.

Back to work!

It has been over two years since updated my Higurashi rpg game. I decided to dust it off and finish a chapter or two that was left unfinished.  I am planning to go to Matsuricon, as well as Anime North, yeticon, and the sailormoon convention in Toronto.  I am hoping to give out copies of my game at Matsuricon to 7th expansion fans.  I might bring copies to the other conventions as well...

Well as I post this I have completed  the before midnight chapter, it has four different twists on the ending.  Next chapter to finish will be Rika-Jan since it is 80% done already.  The final two chapters, reality breaking and The True Ending, I have most of the resources for those chapters but weaving the story takes a lot of time.  Guess they just have to wait.  Though popularity would make me more eager to work on them.  I have so many unfinished projects, it is nice to make a dent in this one.
