Higurashi Kakera Update

New update to fix errors and bugs.  Added a new Rika Challenge that is continuation of the Daybreak chapter.  New weapons can be won in this multiple battle without saves!  Fixed Reality Chapter Challenge and Hidden boss in ~After Chapter.  Changed Title Page from When They Cry Rika's Story to just Higurashi Kakera.  Added Part 1 of Matsuribayashi-hen (Festival Accompanying Chapter).

Yet Another Emergency Patch

Added even more enemies, two new minibosses for Reality Chapter, more ways to remove bad status effects. They say if intoxicated to use the "Hair of the dog that bit you", well dog meat now cures intoxication :)

Changed music files to .ogg format, there might be issues in the future if you overwrite rather then moving save files to a new installation of the game.  It is to let the game be more windows 10 compatible.

Bug: Visual bug of Rika sprite on win spot in Mion's minigame in Rika-jan.  ~After Chapter secret boss bugged.  New rika challenge disabled, will reenable next patch.

May Update

A Yokai Ending


Edit: May 20thVersion2B Patch : No fade out that causes one to miss some of mizuho story after the fight. Fix carry over errors, being blocked when seeking help from Hanyuu and added more dig spots in Rena's treasure game in Rika-jan.  Added some character info cards (Poppy, Atonement, Reverence, and Disaster Awakening), fix completion recognition in Reality chapter, added tips for finding what is the next step during earlier parts in Reality chapter.

Bugs:  Shion's letter turns into a turkey dinner when clicked, it cannot be eaten for it is a lie.  Only one person should been effected before I patched it.  Magic circle becomes a Keiichi.  After a twin gets lost it is possible to accidentally restart Ooishi part of the chapter by mistake by heading west rather then north to 3rd mystery. 1st Mystery Fight still broken.



Reality Chapter:  Someone using the Seven Mysteries of the school as a way to murder.  Mizhou always seem to be at the scene.  Shion and Oishi both try to find the real culprit.

This update covers the 4th, 3th, 2nd and 1st Mysteries. 

4th Mystery: If you make a sculpture of someone in art class there is a chance that the ghost of the art room will destroy it and that person meets a similar fate.

3rd Mystery:  There an old gnarled tree that eats students who get lost in the woods.  There are many disappearances involved with this mystery.

2nd Mystery:  An octopus in the pool, mischievously pulls students into the pool if it does not get respected.  Will drowned a student who was especially disrespectful.

1st Mystery:  If the church bell tolls off the hour, it is a very bad omen.


Two of four endings up!  A good and a bad Yokai ending at the moment.  Fixed replayability issues, Higanbana skills, Spelling/Grammar Issues.  Reward if you solved the 6th, 4th and 1st Mystery in your playthrough.   Shion, Mizhou and Ooishi are playable characters for this chapter, but there are two hidden characters available if particular choices are made early on.  Akasaka is not one of them btw.

General:

Lowered damage for "Got your Toe!" enemy skill.  After Midnight chapter tracks endings.  Suzume Bachi sprite updated.  Extra skills, enemies, items and equipment added.

Failed Worlds :

Going to failed worlds should fix having Satoko or Shion stuck in party bug.  Fixed those chapters so hopefully will not happen again.

New Update: Higher Taxes Version

~After Chapter:  If you get best ending of Before Midnight Chapter, this unlocks allowing you to play Akasaka and find out what happen to Natsumi after the events of the story.  Akasaka gets to have a rematch with bikers plus there also an unlockable boss.

This update mostly fix stuff that had crop up during High_Taxes's twitch playthrough of my game.
Fixed various spelling errors.  Shion's swimsuit is actually hers now.  Shion in Reality chapter will now be unlockable Shion if you had unlocked her.  Can dash on most maps now.  Fixed Disaster Awakening replay ability hopefully.  Fixed sound issues in free area side quest as well as added a prompt to the wall to tell them to hit the switch.  Atonement Chapter, Mion gives better directions.
Added skeleton to Before Midnight Chapter that could be clicked on for directions.  Also gave Kakera (crystals of Meta-world) information on number of routes/endings and stuff of special note once the chapter has been beaten once.  I will be adding more to this feature to help keep track of completion.

ISSUE: I will be uploading a fix soon for reality chapter shion and for sinking chapter Satoko sometimes getting stuck in party.

Reality Chapter:  Someone using the Seven Mysteries of the school as a way to murder.  Mizhou always seem to be at the scene.  Shion and Oishi both try to find the real culprit.



-This chapter will eventually have three different paths, I have been working on Higanbana Yokai path at the moment.  This update covers the 7th, 6th and 5th mysteries. 

The Seventh Mystery: The Anatomy Dummy of the school.  If you take a piece of the Dummy it will come for you at night to take it back plus some.

Sixth Mystery:  If you put a love letter to whom you love on its table it will tell you if that fate will come true or not.  If the letter stays on the table your love will be within reach and if it falls off the table your love will never bear fruit.

Fifth Mystery: A lady dressed in red roams the halls at night.  If you ever catch her in the music room  and hear her piano music in full, your soul gets taken.

To test difficulty, I am giving that Kakera it own Shion character, not to be confused with unlockable Shion.  It will have limited equipment choices and always start as level 1 at the start of this chapter.


Fixes:  Higanbana skills working more properly.  Old playtesters using old save files can get character skills missed in updates by going into and out of the Failed Worlds Kakera.
